  238.      As said above, this is not a complete list of the wounded, or even of the
  239. dead, among the troopers.  Moreover, a number of officers and men died from
  240. fever soon after the regiment was mustered out.  Twenty-eight field and line
  241. officers landed in Cuba on June 22d; ten of them were killed or wounded during
  242. the nine days following.  Of the five regiments of regular cavalry in the
  243. division, one, the Tenth, lost eleven officers; none of the others lost more
  244. than six.  The loss of the Rough Riders in enlisted men was heavier than that
  245. of any other regiment in the cavalry division.  Of the nine infantry regiments
  246. in Kent's division, one, the Sixth, lost eleven officers; none of the others
  247. as many as we did.  None of the nine suffered as heavy a loss in enlisted men,
  248. as they were not engaged at Las Guasimas.
